GRANTS

Quality of Life Grant: The Quality of Life Grant seeks to ease the burden many families face in sending their child to school. Unlike traditional grants, the QOL Grant provides assistance in ways not typically covered by educational grants. The QOL grant can include but is not limited to a food stipend, rent assistance, and a clothing allowance. The QOL Grant is awarded to students who submit a two-page essay on their family life, goals, and their biggest inspiration. There will be a unique essay topic for each awarding of the QOL Grant. This grant is awarded quarterly.

Tuition-Based Grants: This grant is to be used specifically on a student’s educational expenses. Those who apply are to report their estimated educational costs, including tuition and cost of books, with their four-page essay submission. A unique essay topic will be chosen for each awarding of the grant. This grant is awarded quarterly.

Lemonade Grant: The Lemonade Grant is to be used strictly for those students who have incurred loan debt during their studies at a two-year or four-year degree program at the college level. In order to be eligible students must have completed a two-year or four-year degree program and must provide proof of completion upon applying. Those individuals who did not complete their degree but still incurred student debt while attending may apply but must submit an additional one-page essay as to why they did not finish and the work they do now. Each applicant is required to write a three-page essay describing their biggest challenge in school and their biggest triumph after graduating. All essay submissions must include an official statement of amount and breakdown of the individual’s debt. This grant is awarded semi-annually. Please see the Duckout Newsletter for submission deadlines and upcoming events.

Future Legends Grant: The Duckout Association believes in the potential and dreams of our youth. We seek to ease the financial burden many families face in choosing to send their children to after-school programs. The Future Legends Grant provides the enrollment fee and a clothing stipend for a student and his or her choice of after-school activity. The activity can range from the performing arts to sports. Students are chosen monthly and in order to be considered must submit a hundred word essay on their favorite after school program.

Duckout Relief Fund: This Fund provides assistance to those affected by natural disasters such as tornadoes, earthquakes, or hurricanes. The unpredictably of these events and the lack of adequate reserves of supplies brought about the Duckout Relief Fund as a way to provide a safeguard for the most devastating and unpredictable impact natural disasters can inflict.

Duckout International Grant: The Duckout believes in the spirit of adventure and growth. This grant aims at providing students and young adults the opportunity to study or travel abroad for various durations of time. The Duckout provides a mentorship program and assistance to those interested in living overseas. Applicants must submit a four minute video as to their reason for wanting to live or study abroad and what they believe they can accomplish while overseas. This grant is awarded semi-annually.

The Duckout Way Grant: The Duckout Way Grant is awarded to individuals who are directly involved in the Duckout programs and events. To be eligible the applicant must complete at least ten hours of volunteering at any of our events or programs each quarter. This grant is awarded semi-annually.
